The Next Generation of Vehicles?

Framingham Nissan dealerWe all know Toyota is on the cutting edge when it comes to making concept cars. Well, according to Associated Press, they have really outdone themselves now. Toyota has designed a “smart car” – no not anything near the US model – a car that comes equipped with owner recognition, runs it’s own diagnostics after connecting with the dealership over the internet, and a customizable interface through which drivers can change the color and design depending on their mood. Here at your Framingham Nissan dealership, we think this new concept car is a bit too good to be true.

Although it’s just an example of cars to come, this extraordinary concept is quite mind blowing. Could you imagine altering the theme of your car depending on your mood you were in? Let’s say you are having a really bad day, somber blue settings might be appropriate, but if you wanted to feel better maybe some yellows or vibrant colors to brighten your day. In my previous entry on the Era of Smart, I had discussed how new devices and gadgets coming out can be  extremely overwhelming to adapt to. This may be very complex to anyone who isn’t up to date with new technology.

I believe Smart cars and Smart phones should be two completely different things. Wouldn’t you get distracted by all the features a car like this could bring? I believe more accidents would occur; and not just to the driver but people looking at it! It’s a very intriguing approach and really big step into the future of cars, but in all honesty, do we really need something like this on the road? There isn’t a date of production for this car, and it may never happen, but let’s hope it’s not for a very long time.
