Nissan Starts A New Social Media Driven Project Car

by Andrew Martin on February 10, 2012

Nissan North America recently launched one of the coolest projects we here at your Used Nissan Dealer Marlborough have ever seen. The project is going to be social media directed and will allow fans and followers to vote on how they should build a one-off car. You can follow along with the fun on facebook.com/nissanperformance.

The best part about this is the car that Nissan has chosen to base the project around. The brand new 2013 Nissan 370Z is the car in question. Nissan has made some awesome but subtle styling adjustments that make the new model quite appealing. The Nissan Z line has a long history and many dedicated enthusiasts so I’m sure plenty of people will want a chance to make their mark on this unprecedented project.

In a statement about the project vice president of Nissan Marketing, NNA, Jon Brancheau said “Car companies build project vehicles all the time, but we thought it’d be interesting to harness the power of social media to reach out to Z® enthusiasts – the people who are doing this to their own cars everyday. Together we’ll create a vehicle that expands on the already outstanding performance and style of the Nissan 370Z with a balance of street and track ready modifications. Then we’ll share the finished project at upcoming Z® car enthusiast gatherings around the country.”

We’re very excited to see where this project will go and will be following closely with Nissan Performance on their Facebook page. Stay tuned for more updates on “Project 370Z” and more. The 2013 370Z goes on sale in June 2012.
