U.S. Navy Creates Grenade-throwing Robot

Navy invents grenade-throwing robotScience and military forces have come together to develop a futuristic tactic that could save lives and equipment. The Navy is producing a robot to be used on military ships to improve firefighting capacities. We here at Used Nissan Dealer Marlborough, believe that this robot could give the Navy great hopes, but will have many errors throughout the developmental stages.

Think about it this way. The Navy is designed to deliver ammunition and supplies to various grounds of operations. They keep the sea lanes open and safe. Adding a robot on board doesn’t seem like the right thing to do because we’ll be relying on a man made object to take care of highly skilled and trained jobs. Also, many women and men will be replaced by this object and that can ruin their occupation. This robot supposedly is “armed with cameras and a gas sensor, the battery-powered SAFFiR will be “capable of activating fire suppressors” and throwing “propelled extinguishing agent technology (PEAT) grenades.” – Grenade-throwing robot to fight fires on ships.

It will be able to interact with humans who are on the firefighting team and it also will be capable of walking and balancing objects on board. How sure can they really be though? Will you trust a robot on a ship, in the middle of the ocean, carrying a grenade?! This 5’0 ft. tall robot may seem like a good idea, but in reality, this could become catastrophic.
