The complexity of transforming a road or highway into a “greenway” is challenging and time consuming. Today we struggle with the cost of gasoline-dependent roads and the many problems that come with them. Slovakia’s biggest electric companies, IBM and ZSE, have come together in a joint project to help Bratislava’s capital prepare for a future plug-in car. Here at Nissan Dealership Marlborough, we think that the idea of green roads and highways will be a huge project for many, but in the long run, will be extremely beneficial for our environment.
Imagine driving down the road now in your Leaf or other form of electric vehicle and realizing you need to charge your car, asap. How many gas stations actually supply chargers for EV’s? Not too many. The movement is becoming huge (gas to electric/hybrid) so without a doubt, more businesses should be providing charge stations. With green roads and highways, this would not be a problem. The joint project IBM and ZSE are working on is “designed to figure out how to create a network of public charging stations between the cities that can support a new generation of electric cars without stressing the existing power grid.” – How can we transform today’s roads into ‘smart green’ highways?
If this project is a success, hopefully more countries will take notice and commit to the long, but smart journey. Not only will this reduce carbon emissions, but it’s also more energy efficient for commuting. Many benefits come out of this and with our knowledge, we could trust these roads to be more stable and effective than the ones we drive on today.
Hey Android users! Instagram is now available in Google Play! Yes, Android consumers like myself, don’t have to be envious of one of the most popular iPhone apps anymore. Here at your local Used Nissan Dealer Marlborough, we are sure that this will be one of the top downloaded apps on Android for a few months.
If you’re not familiar with the app, you simply make an account, take a picture and you can edit it with an infinite amount of filters. Once the picture is filtered, you can choose to send it directly to Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare or Tumblr. With over 30 million downloads and no cost at all, this app can allow more than just iPhone users to experience it now. Adding a bigger community will hopefully draw more attention and allow more people to come together. There may be some slight problems with this app if more people start to use it, but usually those glitches won’t be too hard to fix.
Here is their blog: Instagram. See how fascinating the pictures are? The filters really make the photos look rustic and old fashioned. Aside from the filtering, if you’re familiar with photography, taking good quality photos won’t be a problem for you. Adding filters just enhances them.
The Fisker Atlantic is one jaw-dropping car. You wouldn’t even believe it’s electric. Recently, on their Czech website, pictures were released labeling the pictures as ‘Project Nina’. Here at your local Nissan Cars Marlborough, we know that with the leaked photos out there will be even more discussion and reviews of the fascinating car.
The car has a well offered price of $50,000. Complete with a four-cylinder engine that acts as a range extending generator and two electrical outputs, this car may not only look fast, but actually perform well, too. General Motors is constructing this vehicle sometime in 2013. In our opinion, the car shows some similarities to the Jaguar XF and Maserati’s Quattroporte. It definitely looks luxurious and flashy, but we’ll have to wait and see what it’s capable of in the upcoming year.
Many electric cars don’t necessarily focus on the look of the car, rather the performance. Besides the Tesla, the Fisker doesn’t have many competitors in the looks category. What are your thoughts on the Fisker Atlantic? What do you think will attract more people; it’s body or performance? This car could potentially be the start of elaborate electrical vehicles making way into the car industry.
I know what you’re thinking. Gross, right?! Surprisingly, cochineal extract (crushed up insects) is used in many other foods like cheeses and cookies. Starbucks has been one of the few honest companies that have opened up to tell us this secret. Here at your local Used Nissan Dealer Marlborough, we think that this is disturbing news and would like to know what other companies use this ingredient as well.
The ground up bodies of these insects are completely harmless. They’re used to spruce up the hue of preserves, jams, meats, cheeses and much more. It’s also been used as a coloring material for foods and drinks for hundreds of years. How come most people have never known about this? Doesn’t it make your stomach turn? Fortunately, it doesn’t have the toxins that are found in artificial coloring.
Starbucks has stated: “At Starbucks, we strive to carry products that meet a variety of dietary lifestyles and needs,” the statement read. “While the strawberry base isn’t a vegan product, it helps us move away from artificial dyes.” – Starbucks admits Strawberry Frappuccino contains crushed bugs. We can respect Starbucks truthfulness, but maybe somethings are better left unsaid? What are your thoughts on this “special” additive?
Nokia has unfortunately fallen behind the curtain the past few years. Their sales have been up and down and they haven’t come out with any new phones or apps to boost their business. Now, they have finally announced their new cell phone: the Lumia 900. Here at your local Used Nissan Dealer Marlborough, we think that Nokia will most likely disappear from stores worldwide very soon if this cell phone doesn’t make an impact.
Nokia has been seeking a comeback for a while now. They had recently declared a bizarre idea of imprinting a tattoo that sends an impulse through your body when you get a call. If that doesn’t sell, it looks as though this Finnish company will have to rely on this new phone. The Lumia 900 supports AT&T, one of the biggest carriers in the United States and if they market it well, hopefully, more people will notice it. In the sea of iPhones and Androids, this is difficult to try and grab a lot of attention.
It’s cheap price will be beneficial and parents may want to purchase this phone for their kids. But, it’s physical appearance doesn’t seem too eye catching. AT&T is trying really hard to promote the Lumia 900 and its 4G LTE capabilities, but will its rival, Verizon Wireless want to come out with something similar, too? We’ll have to wait and see!
When you see a noticeable tattoo, you tend to think there would be some emotional or sentimental meaning behind it. Can you see yourself having a tattoo on your wrist that sends an impulse to your skin when you have a call? It may sound a bit odd, but Nokia is the reason behind the whole invention. Here at Nissan of Marlboro, we think that this idea won’t make it to the stores or the tattoo shops. [click to continue…]

Nissan has come out with a concept hybrid vehicle that has similarities to the Rogue and Murano. We here at the Used Nissan Dealer Marlborough already know about the first electric vehicle of Nissan, the Leaf, but we’re curious to see what is so unique about this car. It’s called the Hi-Cross and supposedly may be a possible new design direction for Nissan. [click to continue…]
Twitter has announced the true meaning behind their bird logo. Larry Bird, the famous Boston Celtics player, is the reason for it all. Surprisingly, the NBA has been incorporating Twitter into their business for a very long time now. From using hash tags and telling people who to follow in their broadcasts, Twitter and the NBA have a very unique relationship. If we named a car after a celebrity, let’s say Kiley Minogue in honor of the Nissan Rogue, Marlborough would face many legal problems and people wouldn’t entirely understand. [click to continue…]
